Theatre In-Balance
Is a Theater Company and Institute, an ongoing physical theater platform and artistic exploration for performing artists built upon the challenge of ecology and gender within the performing arts. It applies techniques from the Art of object theatre using mask, props and puppetry and physical theater such as dance, circus, mime.
Our aim is to use the object to communicate and tell stories; the object as a value is a fundamental challenge in today's political and climate crisis, related to body language, connected to nature and physicality.
Founded in 2016, in Sweden, Theater In-Balance works in collaboration with theatre Collectif Masque/La MEG in Paris
Mariana Araoz, a Venezuelian, Argentinian, French expert in the field of puppets, object theater and mask. Biology Master, Theater Director, pedagogue and expert in puppets and mask technique, she has designed The ©In-Balance Method based in her expertise. She is a professor at the National Theater school in Malmö in Sweden since 2014 and at Ecole du Jeu in Paris. She has teached and directed with her Method in Paris, Malmö, Oslo, Chicago, Minneapolis, Sevilla, Hong Kong, Moscow and New York.
